Additional probe tools

The probe is supplied with certain additional tools.

Desktop tools
The probe is supplied with the following desktop tools that allow you to display a menu from the desktop to acknowledge or unacknowledge an alert: UnixHpomTool.sql, NHttpHpomProbe.pl, and hpom.rules.
WebGUI tools
The probe is supplied with the following WebGUI tools that allow you to create a menu from within the WebGUI to acknowledge or unacknowledge an alert: UnixHpomTools.xml and UnixHpomTools.cgi.
Limitations of the Acknowledge and Unacknowledge alert commands
When probe failover occurs, acknowledging or unacknowledging the alerts originally processed by the counterpart probe will fail. For example, from the slave probe, acknowledging an alert originally processed by the master probe will fail. This is because there will be a mismatched URL value causing the HTTP command to be sent to the inactive destination.
