Connecting to single or multiple devices

The Tekelec LSMS can connect to either a single device or to multiple devices. When the probe connects to a single device, it uses the connection properties. When the probe connects to multiple devices, it references a hosts file; this file contains details of the devices to which the probe connects and the connection properties for each connection. To connect to a switch, the Tekelec LSMS uses either the Host and Port properties in the probe properties file or a hosts file. If the HostsFile property has not been defined, then the probe uses the Host and Port properties to make a single connection. If all three properties are set, the probe only uses the details specified in the hosts file.
