Managing Content Runtime

Before you can deploy virtual machines with Middleware Content installed and configured, run the following prerequisite steps.

Before starting, ensure that the System Requirements are met.

1. Starting from IBM Cloud Pak® for AIOps 4.8.0 release, terraform engine 0.11.x is not shipped with the product. The content runtime and middleware content requires terraform engine 0.11.x. You must use Create a version steps to first import the 0.11.x terraform engine before you deploy a content runtime.
2. Create a cloud connection. For information about creating a connection, see Managing connections.
3. Create the Content Runtime. For more information, see Provisioning and managing your Content Runtime infrastructure.
4. Set up the Software repository. For more information, see Managing a software repository
5. Check that the Middleware Templates are loaded.
6. Check that the IBM Middleware Cookbooks are loaded. For more information, see Kinfe Command Configuration.
7. The Content Runtime template scripts depend on Python for Operating System checks, so ensure that the Operating System image that is provided in the template has Python.
