Data acquisition

Each probe uses a different method to acquire data. Which method the probe uses depends on the target system from which it receives data.

The Probe for IBM Tivoli Common Event Infrastructure (CEI) acquires data from Tivoli CEI by connecting to the interface and requesting all events that belong to a specific event group. The probe then subscribes to these events using JMS and receives new events as they are generated. When the probe shuts down, the CEI queues all events received until the probe starts again..
