Cloud connections

On the Cloud connections tab, you can view and create cloud connections. Cloud connections allow you to create connections to each of your target cloud providers that are used when you deploy instances.

For more information, see Managing connections

Content runtimes

On the Content runtimes tab, you can view and create advanced content runtimes.

For more information about creating advanced content runtimes, see Managing content runtime

Email configuration

On the Email configuration tab, you can view and create email server configurations. To use email-related features within Manage services, you need to configure an email server to send these emails.

For more information about configuring and managing SMTP server connection for email notifications, see Managing Email Configuration

Shared parameters

On the Shared parameters tab, you can view and create data types and data objects that can be used as shared parameters. Shared parameters define shared configuration to store data and are used by templates. You can create reusable data objects using shared parameters. This helps save time when you are deploying new instances and creating services.

For more information, see Shared parameters.

Ansible Automation

On the Ansible Automation tab, you can create and view Ansible connections. By creating a globally accessible connection to Ansible Tower, you can include Ansible Automation within your services.

For more information about configuring an Ansible Tower connection, see Configuring the Ansible Tower connection.

Terraform versions

On the Terraform versions tab, you can view versions of Terraform that can be offered when you deploy templates and services. You can also create versions, if needed. A default version can be set, which is used when the template metadata does not specify a version.

For more information, see Managing Terraform Versions.

Usage

On the Usage tab, you can view the highest number of virtual machines (VMs) managed by Manage services each month. You can view the current and monthly usage, and download the usage data.

For more information, see Managing the usage of virtual machines.

Access Control

In the Access Control tab, you can provide access for users to certain namespaces. An administrator user can assign namespaces to the user or user groups by using this feature.

For more information, see Managing Access Control.

Service catalog

The Service catalog view displays the deployable services and applications and related details. It also displays the deployed instances and related details. With the service catalog you can complete the following tasks:

  • As an IT administrator, you can define a new service by using the service composer, test it and when it is ready, publish it to the Service catalog. You can decide which parameters to expose to users, such as to hide the complexity around provisioning from users.
  • As a user, such as a developer, you can access the Service catalog to provision infrastructure and applications.

The Service catalog view can be refreshed at a particular interval by using the Autorefresh menu. The default is 10 seconds. You can also disable the autorefresh.

To access the Service catalog, go to IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps console and click Automate infrastructure > Service library.
