Running an action

As an Operator or as a Service Delivery Engineer, you can run the latest published action directly, without wrapping the action into a runbook first. If the action has never been published before, Service Delivery Engineers can also run the draft (although they would typically use Test action instead, as the test page is more tightly integrated with Edit action and generally allows you to test the latest draft).

  1. Click the navigation icon at the upper-left corner of the screen to go to the main navigation menu.

  2. In the main navigation menu, click Operate > Automations.

  3. Click Actions.

  4. Select an action in the table to display the Preview side panel for that action.

  5. Click Run action at the bottom of the side panel to start the run procedure for the action. Alternatively, click the options menu of the action and click the Run option.

  6. Follow the instructions on the Run action page.

  7. Verify the result of the action.

  8. You can run the action multiple times. Parameter values can be modified between runs of the action.

  9. When you are finished running the action, click Complete.

  10. In the Provide feedback section, you can provide a rating and a comment. This information is intended to be evaluated by administrators, so they can easily identify those actions that need to be improved, and understand what exactly needs to be improved.

  11. When you are finished with providing feedback, click Close.
