Retiring a service version

You can retire a published service version.

About the task

You cannot retire a draft service version from the user interface, however, you can retire it by using API commands. For the API details, see Service and service instance APIs.

You can retire a particular service version by using the following methods:

Manually retire a service version

  1. Go to the Library > Services pane.

  2. Expand the service to see the service versions or click the service to open the service details pane.

  3. From the overflow menu of a published service version record, select Retire option. On successful completion, a Retire service confirmation message is displayed.

  4. In the Retire service confirmation message box, click Retire. The status of the record changes to "Retired".

Note: The overflow menu of a retired service version has View, Copy, Delete options.

Auto-retire a service version

You can set a retirement date for a published service version. The service version is retired on that particular date and the status of service version is changed to Retired. This is useful where you want to keep a service version available for the user to deploy for a certain period only. A retired service version cannot be deployed.

  1. Go to the Library > Services pane.

  2. Expand the service to see the service versions or click the service to open the service details pane.

  3. From the overflow menu of a published service version record, select Set retirement option.

  4. Select the retirement date.

  5. Click Save.
