Data acquisition

When the Probe for Tivoli® EIF starts, it monitors the port specified in the properties file, and uses the EIF Java™ API to receive and parse the events. Based on these events, the probe generates alerts and sends them to the ObjectServer.

Note: The events that the probe receives must have alphanumeric class names and attribute names. The probe considers events that contain class names or attribute names that are solely numeric as malformed and discards them, unless you set the HandleMalformedAlarms property to true.
