Entitlement details

The licensing model requires the purchase of resource units. Resource units are consumed by the use of processing and analytics abilities on managed devices, managed client devices, virtual servers, and Virtual Processor Cores(VPCs). You must ensure that you have sufficient resource units for your usage.

Various metrics and conversion ratios apply to your entitlement of IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps 4.13.0. These metrics and conversion ratios include, but are not limited to:

  • Managed Client Device
  • Managed Device
  • Process
  • Resource Unit
  • Virtual Processor Core
  • Virtual Server

The definition of the preceding list items is in the license agreement L-TQPP-FD29GN.

The capabilities that consume resource units are:

  • Event Processing and Analytics - the capability of the Program to ingest event data to process and analyze it.
  • Metric Processing and Analytics - the capability of the Program to ingest metric data to process and analyze it.
  • Log Processing and Analytics - the capability of the Program to ingest log data to process and analyze it.

The following table lists some of the entitlements per resource unit (perpetual) for these capabilities:

Event Processing & Analytics Metric Processing & Analytics Log Processing & Analytics
- 1 Managed Device = 1 resource unit
- 20 Managed Client Devices = 1 resource unit
- 10,000 Monthly Events = 7 resource unit
- 1 Managed Device = 1 resource unit
- 20 Managed Client Devices = 1 resource unit
- 1 VPC = 100 resource units
- 50 GB Monthly logs = 7 resource units

Resource unit requirements for a device are for each capability that the device uses. For example if a managed device uses the event processing and analytics capability and the metric processing and analytics capability, then 2 resource units are required for that device, not 1.
