Probe for IBM SevOne Network Performance Management (NPM) integration

You can configure the Probe integration for connecting IBM SevOne Network Performance Management to IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps.

Note: Since the release of IBM Cloud Pak AIOps 4.1, you can now use a Generic Webhook integration to integrate IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps with IBM SevOne Network Performance Management (NPM) to digest events. Using a Webhook integration is preferred over installing a probe to connect with IBM SevOne as it simplifies the setup process. For details see Creating Generic Webhook integrations.

Overview

The Probe integration for IBM SevOne NPM creates a webhook endpoint to receive policy based alerts from IBM SevOne NPM. This integration is provided by the IBM Netcool Operations Insight Event Integrations Operator 3.4. Depending on your deployment you can configure the probe integration for IBM SevOne NPM connection to the IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps. If it is the IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps, the Probe integration for IBM SevOne NPM with IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps consists of the following steps. As a prerequisite you need the following systems: IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps in openshift container platform, and IBM SevOne Network Management System (NMS) 6.1. You then need to install the IBM Netcool event integrations operator, gather IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps ObjectServer connection information, configure and install the probe for SevOne integration, obtain the probe Webhook URL, and then lastly, configure IBM SevOne Network Management System (NMS) to forward events to the probe for SevOne.

Depending on your deployment scenario, you can configure the Probe integration for IBM SevOne NPM connecting to the IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps.

Installation

Note: Using the Generic Webhook integration is preferred over installing a probe to integrate with IBM SevOne, so you should consider migrating to this method. See Creating Generic Webhook integrations.
