Installing IBM Db2
Review the following guidance for installing IBM Db2 for use with IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps.
IBM Db2 can be used for two main purposes:

The data store to which the IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps integration with IBM Db2 can push data. This data store holds any alert or incident data that is used for dashboards or reports. For instance, with an integration with IBM Cognos Analytics.

The content store for IBM Cognos Analytics. For more information, see Guidelines for creating the content store.
Prerequisites
- Only IBM Db2 Standard Server Edition 11.5.9.0 is supported.
Installation guidance
For an existing installation of IBM Db2, your environment might need additional configuration to meet the preceding two use-cases. Review the content-store guidance, and if needed, the following sizing guidance.
For a new installation of IBM Db2, follow the guidance in the IBM Db2 documentation. Within this documenation, you can also find guidance on high availability, disaster recovery, and various other configuration options to fit your environment needs.
Sizing
One of the key factors of your IBM Db2 installation is the disk requirement, as this must factor into the quantity and size of alerts or incidents. For general guidance on IBM Db2 disk space requirements, see Disk and memory requirements. For alerts and incidents, the exact disk space usage can vary significantly depending on different factors, such as the number and size of fields, and the quantity of insert and updates.
