Data acquisition

Each probe uses a different method to acquire data. Which method the probe uses depends on the target system from which it receives data.

The Probe for Nokia-Siemens EWSD (Server) generates Netcool® events by acting as a multiheaded TCP/IP socket server. When it starts, it listens for a connection from the Nokia-Siemens EWSD system on the port specified by the PortNumber property. There is no limit to the number of clients that can connect to the probe.
