Deleting users

You can delete specific user accounts that are no longer needed.

Before you begin

A user name and password are required to log in to the console. If you no longer need a specific user account, you can delete the user. When you delete a user account, all the resources owned by that user are automatically transferred to you.

You must be assigned the Security administration role with permission to Manage security (Full permission) to perform these steps.

About this task

You can use the console, the command line interface, or the REST API to complete this task. For the command line and REST API information, see the Related information section.

Procedure

  1. Click Security and access > Users.
  2. Select the user account that you want to delete.
Attention: The Administrator user account cannot be deleted.
  3. Click Delete.
A dialogue box confirming the action to permanently delete the user account is displayed.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. If you have integrated a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server with Cloud Pak System, you must also remove users from the corresponding LDAP group membership list if that group has been granted access to Cloud Pak System. If you only delete users from Cloud Pak System and not from the LDAP group membership list, those users will still be able to log in to Cloud Pak System.
