Block Storage Replication Profiles page reference
Fields used in the Block Storage Replication Profiles page of the console are defined to help you manage your block storage replication profiles in your Cloud Pak System environment.
The Block Storage Replication Profiles page of the console consists of several groups of fields and options.
The profiles selection list
The Block Storage Replication Profiles selection list displays the list of profiles available in the system, including profiles that have been created by you or other system users. Currently you can define only one block storage replication profile on each system. The following functions are available for you to manage the profile selection list:
- Refresh
- Refreshes the display of the Block Storage Replication Profiles page.
- New
- Click the New icon in the toolbar to create
a new block storage replication profile. A dialog is opened where
you can specify a name and description for the profile, along with
other required parameters needed to configure the profile for the
first time.Note: You can define only one block storage replication profile at a time. If a profile is already created, this function is not available.
- Filter
- Enter a text string to filter the list of profiles that display on the page to show only those profile names that contain the filter text. In this page, there is only one profile defined, so you should not need to use this function.
- Sort
- Click to sort the list of profiles by any of the following attributes:
- Sort by name
- Sort by status
In this page, there is only one profile defined, so you should not need to use this function.
To work with a profile, select it by clicking the name in the list. Additional information about the selected profile is then displayed in the details pane.
Icons in the toolbar
The toolbar of the Block Storage Replication Profiles page includes the following additional icons:
- Validate
- Validation is an optional operation. You can perform this operation on either the local or remote system to validate the configuration of the block storage replication profile with the associated profile on the other system.
- Start
- Enables the block storage replication profile for replication.
- Disable
- Disables the replication for the profile.
- Delete
- Removes the profile from the list. The profile must first be disabled before it can be deleted.
Details for the selected profile
Selecting the block storage replication profile displays the name of the profile in the toolbar at the top of the pane, and details about the profile in the following fields:
- Jobs
- Indicates the number of any pending or started jobs for replication. You can click links to display quick reference tables of pending or started jobs, or you can click the View details link to go to the page for a more detailed display of jobs, filtered by the block storage replication profile name.
- Events
- Indicates the number of any error level or warning level events related to replication. You can click links to display the block storage replication profile name. You can also click the View details link to go to the page to show all events for the block storage replication profile. page for error level or warning level events, filtered by the severity level and the
- Details
- Indicates basic information about the block storage replication profile.
You can click the values in these fields to modify the information
as needed:
- Name: The text string name of the profile.
- Description: A text description of the profile.
- Peer management location: The IP address or fully qualified host name of the system where the remote block storage replication profile is located.
- Overall Replication State
- Indicates the high level replication status of the block storage replication profile,
taking into account the replication status of the individual volume
pairs that are included in the profile. Possible values of this overall
state include:
- Available: Replication on all volume pairs is available.
- Unconfigured: At least one volume pair is not available for replication.
- Stopped: Block storage replication has stopped. You should resolve any problems and click Restart to enable the profile again to start replication operations.
- Failed: Block storage replication was stopped or interrupted for a volume before it completed the initial copy phase. You should resolve any problems and click Restart to enable the profile again to start replication operations.
- Storage controller connection state
- Indicates whether or not the storage controller is connected.
- Volumes
- A table is displayed showing the local and remote volume pairs that are included in this profile, along with the direction of replication, the replication status, and actions that you can take on each volume pair. For information about managing volume pairs in this table, see the Related links.
