Deploying a IBM Storage Scale Client

You can deploy a IBM Storage Scale Client as part of your virtual pattern deployment process.

Before you begin

Before you deploy IBM Storage Scale Clients, review the following items and additional information:

About this task

You should have already created and configured a virtual application pattern or virtual system pattern containing one or more application components that have been configured as a IBM Storage Scale Client. When you deploy your pattern, you can change the deployment parameters for your pattern, your components, and the IBM Storage Scale Client Policy or IBM Storage Scale Client script packages that you added to your components. This procedure is for a simple deployment of a single IBM Storage Scale Client. You can repeat this procedure as needed for each IBM Storage Scale Client that you deploy.

Procedure

Follow the usual procedure for deploying your virtual application pattern or virtual system pattern that contains your application components configured as IBM Storage Scale Clients.
As part of the deployment process, you have an opportunity to provide or modify configuration parameters for your IBM Storage Scale Client configuration before deploying it into the cloud. For more information on these IBM Storage Scale configuration parameters, see the Related links.

Results

The deployment is started. A link is provided to the appropriate Instances page, where you can view the status of the deployment as it progresses.

Note: When you deploy an IBM Storage Scale Client, the IBM Storage Scale Client cluster authorization is stored on the IBM Storage Scale Server and is removed when the client is deleted from the Virtual Instances page.
