Deploying a IBM Storage Scale Client
You can deploy a IBM Storage Scale Client as part of your virtual pattern deployment process.
Before you begin
- You must already have your IBM Storage Scale Servers deployed and running.
- You can have an instance of the IBM® shared service for IBM Storage Scale deployed and running.
- The IBM Storage Scale Client can use the IBM Storage Scale shared service to connect to the IBM Storage Scale Server. For more information, see IBM shared service for IBM Storage Scale.
- You can deploy a IBM Storage Scale Client without deploying the IBM Storage Scale shared service. For more information, see Connecting to a IBM Storage Scale Server that is not specified by the IBM shared service for IBM Storage Scale.
About this task
Procedure
Follow the usual procedure for deploying your virtual application pattern or virtual
system pattern that contains your application components configured as IBM Storage Scale Clients.
As part of the deployment process, you have an opportunity to provide or modify configuration
parameters for your IBM Storage Scale Client
configuration before deploying it into the cloud. For more information on these IBM Storage Scale configuration parameters, see the Related
links.
Results
The deployment is started. A link is provided to the appropriate Instances page, where you can view the status of the deployment as it progresses.
Note: When you deploy an IBM Storage Scale Client, the
IBM Storage Scale Client cluster authorization is stored
on the IBM Storage Scale Server and is removed when the
client is deleted from the Virtual Instances page.
