Restoring virtual system instances from a snapshot image
A snapshot image represents a previously captured state of the virtual system instance.
Before you begin
You must be granted access to the virtual system instance or have the Workload resources administration with Full permission role to complete this task.
Note: You cannot restore a snapshot or this action is not available if:
- You are not a hardware administrator with permission to Manage hardware resources (Full permission)
- You are not a user with minimum write permissions and not assigned to the instance.
About this task
Any virtual machines in the virtual system instance that were added after the snapshot image was taken are still present and are unaffected when you restore the virtual system instance to its previous state.
Procedure
- Click .
- Select the virtual system instance for which you want to restore by using its snapshot image.
-
In the Snapshots section, click Restore to
restore the virtual system instance to its
previously captured state.
The restore process does not take place instantly, and the virtual system instance is not usable while the virtual system instance is being restored. When the virtual system instance is restored from a snapshot, it is automatically stopped and placed into maintenance mode so that the monitoring processes do not start for the instance. To change the instance from maintenance mode back to regular operations, click Resume.
