Deleting snapshot images for virtual system instances

You can delete a snapshot image of a virtual system instance that you no longer require.

Before you begin

You must be granted access to the virtual system instance or have the Workload resources administration with Full permission role to complete this task.

Note: You cannot delete a snapshot or this action is not available if:
  • You are not a hardware administrator with permission to Manage hardware resources (Full permission)
  • You are not a user with minimum write permissions and not assigned to the instance.

About this task

After creating a snapshot image for a virtual system instance, you can delete the snapshot when you no longer need it. An existing snapshot image of a virtual system instance is automatically deleted when a new snapshot image is created.

Procedure

  1. Click Patterns > Virtual System Instances.
  2. Select the virtual system instance for which you want to delete the snapshot image.
  3. In the Snapshots section, click Delete to delete the snapshot.

Results

The snapshot image is deleted from the system memory.
