Running system diagnostics

Diagnostics provide a way to examine the state and locate problems with the hardware and operating system environment.

Before you begin

  • You must be assigned the Hardware administration role with permission to Manage hardware resources (Full permission) to perform these steps.
  • Check the System > Job Queue page (or click Problem determination > System > Job Queue in 2.3.3.3 or later) to make sure other instances of the Full verification diagnostic job or the Full PSM component connectivity diagnostic job are not currently running. If so, wait for these jobs to complete before starting another one.

Procedure

  1. Click System > System Troubleshooting (or Problem determination > System > System Troubleshooting in 2.3.3.3 or later).

  2. Expand Run System Diagnostics and select an option from the list.
    Avoid trouble: Do not initiate Full verification diagnostics and Full PSM component connectivity diagnostics at the same time from different browsers.
  3. Click Start Diagnostics.
    If errors occur, download the log files and provide them to IBM Software Support.
