Stopping a DB2 virtual application pattern HADR instance

Use the console stop a high availability and disaster recovery (HADR) instance for the IBM® DB2® primary and standby parts.

Procedure

  1. Stop the standby DB2 instance from the command line.
    1. Use SSH to log into the standby virtual machine as the instance owner.
    2. Run the db2stop force command.
  2. Stop the standby virtual machine.
    1. Log in to the consolee as a user that has permissions to modify virtual machines.
    2. Click Instances > Virtual Systems and locate the virtual machine associated with the standby HADR instance you want to stop.
    3. In the Virtual Machines pane, click Manage for the standby part.
    4. Select the standby DB2 part and click Stop.
  3. Stop the primary DB2 instance from the command line.
    1. Use SSH to log into the primary virtual machine as the instance owner.
    2. Run the db2stop force command.
  4. Stop the primary virtual machine.
    1. Log in to the console as a user that has permissions to modify virtual machines.
    2. Click Instances > Virtual Systems and locate the virtual system containing the primary HADR instance that you want to stop.
    3. In the Virtual Machines pane, click Manage for the primary part.
    4. Select the primary DB2 part and click Stop.
