Instance Dashboard
The Instance Dashboard gives you an easy to read overview of instances in the system on a single page with a real-time user interface, showing a graphical presentation of the current status or snapshot of your instances. You can use this information for viewing the health of the system, enabling you to make instantaneous and informed decisions at a glance.
The Instances list
The Instance Dashboard is
organized by instance type:
- Virtual Applications
- Virtual Systems
- Virtual systems (Classic)
- Shared Services
- Databases
The following functions are available for you to work
with the instance types:
- Refresh
- Refreshes the status of the instance types and updates the Instance Dashboard.
- Filter
- Enter a term that is used to filter the instances that display on the page.
Health Status indicators
Across the top
of the Instance Dashboard,
there are the following health status indicators for each instance
type, showing the number of instances associated with each indicator:
- Normal
- This status is determined by the deployment status and the health status. The health status is Normal or Unknown when the deployment status is not Error, Failed, Stopped, or Terminated.
- Stopped
- The deployment status is Stopped or Terminated.
- Warning
- This status is determined by the deployment status and the health status. The health status is Warning when the deployment status is not Error, Failed, Stopped, or Terminated.
- Critical
- This status is determined by the deployment status and the health status. The health status is Critical when the deployment status is not Error, Failed, Stopped, or Terminated.
- Error
- The deployment status is Error or Failed.
Additionally, in the upper right of the Instance Dashboard, the Overall Statistics pie chart provides a graphical representation of the same health status indicators. The pie chart is divided into sectors based on each heath status indicator, showing the number of instances associated with that indicator.
Details of the instance types
When you expand
each instance type, some basic details about each type are displayed
in a table format:
- Name
- The name of the instance.
- Status
- The status of the instance can be one of
the following values.
Table 1. Possible status values for a deployment Status Deployment description Virtual machine description Error An error occurred during deployment. Check the logs and determine the cause of the error before you redeploy the pattern. The virtual machine status. Failed The deployment process could not be started because of either the application configuration or a failure that is occurring in the infrastructure cloud. The virtual machine did not start successfully. Installing Not applicable The components of the instance are being provisioned on the virtual machine. Launching The virtual application is being deployed. The virtual machine is being provisioned on the infrastructure cloud. Not_Ready The instance is in maintenance mode. The Not_Ready status does not apply to virtual machines. Queuing The deployment is scheduled for a date and time in the future. Registering Start deploying the virtual machine by registering it with hypervisor. Running Resources are actively running in the infrastructure cloud. The components of the instance are running on the virtual machine and can be accessed. Saferunning For more information, see Agent is running in safe mode. Starting Starting the virtual machine. Stopped The instance is stopped. The virtual application can be made available again by starting the instance. The virtual machine is stopped and it can be restarted. Note: The virtual machines inStopped
state are not displayed under the .Stopping The instance is stopping. The virtual machine is being stopped. Stored The instance is stored. No processor, memory, network, or data resources are reserved for stored instances. The instance can be started only if resources are available. The virtual machine is stored. It can be started only if resources are available. Storing The instance is storing. The virtual machine is being stored. Terminated The instance resources are deleted. History files are retained. The virtual machine is deleted and resources were released. Terminating The instance resources are being deleted. The virtual machine is being deleted and its resources are released. Transferring Transferring the image to hypervisor. Unknown Status cannot be determined by IBM® Workload Deployer (IWD) or IBM WebSphere® CloudBurst® Appliance (WCA). Unknown status Status cannot be determined by IWD or WCA. - Created by
- The user ID that created the instance.
- Created on
- The date and time that the instance was created. This value is stored internally as the number of seconds since midnight January 1, 1970 Coordinated Universal Time. This value is displayed as the equivalent date and time in the local timezone.
- Updated on
- The date and time that the instance was last updated. This value is stored internally as the number of seconds since midnight, January 1, 1970 Coordinated Universal Time. The value is displayed as the equivalent date and time in the local timezone.
