Adding IP groups in network isolated environments
This topic addresses how IP groups in network isolated environments are added to an existing IP group.
The system requires that all Domain Name Service (DNS) server host name / IP pairs in an IP group are listed in the Domain Name Service (DNS) section of the system settings panel (Click . In 2.3.3.3, click . .).
If there is network isolation (two or more IP groups that are configured with separate DNS servers) the DNS servers' host name / IP pairs from each network isolated IP group must be available in the DNS servers list of an existing IP group. Adding the host name / IP pairs ensures that the Platform System Manager can validate DNS servers that are listed in network isolated IP groups.
Example
- IP group C is configured with DNS servers 192.168.1.4 and 192.168.1.5
- IP group B is configured with DNS servers 192.168.66.4 and 192.168.66.5
- IP group A is configured with DNS servers 172.16.1.2 and 172.16.1.3
- DNS servers 172.16.1.2 and 172.16.1.3 are listed in the DNS servers list in system settings.
- The Domain Name Service (DNS) section of the system settings panel should also include 192.168.1.4, 192.168.1.5, 192.168.66.4, and 192.168.66.5, or all of the host name / IP pairs, so that the Platform System Manager can resolve the IP addresses in IP groups B and C.
