Get Cluster Status operation
Run this operation to obtain the status of the current IBM Storage Scale deployment, including the IBM Storage Scale primary and secondary nodes, how many IBM Storage Scale disks are being used, and their status.
Procedure
- Expand the Manage Cluster section of the GPFS_Manager operations.
- Expand the Run Cluster Operation node.
- In the Operation field, select Get Cluster Status from the available list.
- Click Confirm when asked to validate your request.
- Click Submit.
Results
This operation runs the following IBM Storage Scale commands in the
background:
/usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/mmlscluster
/usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/mmlsnsd
/usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/mmlsdisk
/usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/mmlsfs
/usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/mmlsfileset
A new entry is displayed under the Operation Execution Results list, with the name Run Cluster Operation. When completed, the status of the operation changes from Active to Done, and the Return Value column displays the result of the operation as a link.
For example, for a IBM Storage Scale Server deployment
with one IBM Storage Scale Server node,
the result is similar to the following example:
GPFS-Manager.11402320054789.GPFS_Manager: Cluster Status: Click here to open the log status.
When you click the link, a new tab opens and shows the output of the operation. Verify that there are no errors in this log.
Note: You can run
this operation on any IBM Storage Scale Primary,
Mirror, or Tiebreaker configuration. If the operation is run on configurations
that are not yet active in the IBM Storage Scale environment
(for example, a Mirror or Tiebreaker configuration that is not attached
to a Primary configuration), only an error message is returned because
they are not yet a member of a IBM Storage Scale cluster.
This is the expected output and is not an actual IBM Storage Scale error.
