Creating analysis point specifications

Stabilized feature: CICSPlex® SM Real-Time Analysis (RTA) is stabilized. Consider moving to Policy system rules or to a dedicated monitoring product such as IBM OMEGAMON for z/OS. See also Stabilization notices and discontinued functions.

Used for analysis point monitoring (APM), an analysis point specification (APSPEC object) identifies one or more CMASs that are responsible for analyzing CICS® systems within the CICSplex identified as the context. The RTA analysis point specifications (APSPEC) views display information about analysis point specifications. You can create, update and remove analysis point specifications from this view.

Procedure

To create an analysis point specification:

  1. From the main menu, click Administration > RTA analysis point monitoring > Analysis point specifications.
  2. On the Analysis point specifications (APSPEC) view, click the Create button. To base the new definition on an existing one, click the Record check box before clicking the Create button. The Analysis point specifications create view is displayed.
  3. When you have completed the fields, click the Yes button to create the specification. Otherwise, click No to abandon the process.

  • Add analysis groups to the analysis point specification

    While an analysis point specification (APSPEC object) identifies one or more CMASs that are responsible for analyzing CICS systems, you need to identify the analysis definitions and status probe definitions that are used for analysis point monitoring (APM). You can create these associations by adding analysis groups (RTAGROUP objects) that contain the analysis definitions and status probe definitions you need to the analysis point specification.
