Customizing security processing

In CICS® Transaction Server for z/OS®, Version 5 Release 6 , the only form of security CICS supports is that provided by an external security manager (ESM), such as RACF®. CICS uses, by means of the RACROUTE macro, the MVS system authorization facility (SAF) interface to route authorization requests to the external security manager. SAF uses the MVS router as a common system interface for all products providing and requesting resource control. CICS also uses a number of RACF callable services. This section describes how you can customize security processing using RACF exit programs.

To customize security at the SAF level, you can write an MVS Router Exit (ICHRTX00) to customize RACROUTE calls, and an RACF Callable Services Installation Exit (IRRSXT00) to customize RACF callable services.
