Starting CICS Transaction Gateway

Follow these steps to start CICS® TG

Before you begin

You must have installed CICS TG successfully and created a configuration file as described in the previous steps.

About this task

You can now start CICS TG and make it ready to run your sample application.

Procedure

  1. In Windows, click Start > Accessories, right click Command Prompt, then click Run as administrator.
  2. Enter the following command: 
    ctgadmin -a start
  3. Wait for the message CTG9550I Service IBM CICS Transaction Gateway has started

What to do next

You have now installed, configured and started CICS TG. In the next step, you can begin running transactions.
