APPLID and APPLID qualifier length limit

This information describes changes to the maximum length allowed for APPLIDs and APPLID qualifiers in client applications introduced in CICS® Transaction Gateway 9.1.

In CICS Transaction Gateway 9.0 and earlier, the 8 character limit for APPLIDs and APPLID qualifiers was documented but not enforced. This has been changed so that requests that specify APPLIDs or APPLID qualifiers that are longer than 8 characters are rejected and message CTG6675E or CTG6676E will be issued. Existing client applications containing APPLIDs or APPLID qualifiers that exceed the maximum length should be updated so that they are no longer than 8 characters.
