Note for host management of multi-node cluster
a). You can do host management (add/edit/remove host), only, when all management nodes of the multi-node cluster are alive, or else it fails to manage the host (add/edit/remove the host) for the error message:
Failed to perform xxx(register/update-registration/deregister), because not all nodes in the HA cluster is active. Check the cluster's status and retry after the cluster's status is back to normal.
b). If the host is managed (add/edit/remove) successfully, the UI message:
Synchronize to xxx(add/update/remove) the host xxx config from xxx[x.x.x.x] to the other management nodes successfully
is shown to synchronize the host config file
/etc/nova/nova-<nodename>.conf on all management nodes.
c). If the host synchronization fails, the UI message:
Failed to synchronize to xxx(add/update/remove) the host xxx config from xxx[x.x.x.x] to the other management nodes, refer to the log /var/log/nova/nova-api.log for details and run the command /opt/ibm/icic/bin/icic-manage -o syncconf -c x.x.x.x -f /etc/nova/nova-<nodename>.conf on xxx[x.x.x.x] to synchronize the host config manually.
is shown on UI messages page. You need to synchronize the host config to the other management nodes manually, such as (192.168.5.100 is the IP address of the host):
/opt/ibm/icic/bin/icic-manage -o syncconf -c 192.168.5.100 -f /etc/nova/nova-LPAR1.conf
