Preparing the storage environment for SRA

Prepare the storage environment for IBM Storage Ceph Storage Replication Adapter based on your disaster recovery configuration.

Before you install and configure IBM Storage Ceph Storage Replication Adapter, prepare the storage environment according to the disaster recovery model that you plan to use.

SRA supports both snapshot mirroring and stretch cluster disaster recovery configurations.

Snapshot mirroring

Uses snapshot-based replication between protected and recovery clusters to enable disaster recovery operations.

Stretch cluster configurations

Uses a single Ceph cluster that spans two locations. Disaster recovery operations are location-based and do not rely on replication between clusters.
