Previously, IBM Storage Ceph Storage Replication Adapter supported disaster recovery only for mirrored environments that used snapshot-based replication between separate clusters.

With this enhancement, IBM Storage Ceph Storage Replication Adapter supports NVMe‑oF stretch cluster configurations. This support enables disaster recovery operations within a single Ceph cluster that spans two locations. Instead of replicating data between clusters, SRA uses location‑based failover by reassigning namespace locations, which helps ensure optimal I/O paths and simplifies recovery workflows.

This enhancement reduces the need for replication configuration and improves failover efficiency by eliminating cross-cluster data synchronization.
