Access the S3 Object Browser

Access the IBM Storage Ceph S3 Object Browser from a web browser and connect to your S3 endpoint.

Before you begin

Before you begin, make sure that you have the following prerequisites in place:
  • The S3 Object Browser is deployed and running
  • The URL of the Object Browser service
  • Valid S3 credentials, including an access key and secret key
  • The S3 endpoint address

About this task

After deployment, you access the S3 Object Browser through a web browser. You must provide connection details to authenticate and connect to the S3-compatible endpoint.

Procedure

  1. From a web browser, enter the URL of the deployed Object Browser service.
Note: Use HTTPS if TLS is configured. Otherwise, use HTTP with the appropriate port.
    http://HOST:PORT
  2. Enter the connection details to log in to the S3 Object Browser.

    Provide the following connection details:

    • Access key
    • Secret key
    • Endpoint
Note: This is the Ceph Object Gateway (S3) endpoint, not the Object Browser URL.
    • Region (optional)
Note: Region is optional and uses a default value if not specified.

Results

You are logged in to the S3 Object Browser and can manage your S3 buckets and objects.
If the S3 Object Browser loads but no buckets are displayed, verify that the endpoint and credentials are correct.
