Advanced debugging

Use advanced debugging techniques to diagnose complex issues with the IBM Storage Ceph Provisioner server and cluster nodes when standard troubleshooting steps do not resolve the problem.

Advanced debugging techniques are intended for use when standard troubleshooting steps have not resolved the issue. Use these techniques only when directed by IBM support, as some procedures require restarting services or temporarily modifying system configuration.

The following techniques are available:

Understanding Ceph Provisioner services
Learn about the systemd services that make up the Provisioner solution and how to access their logs. See Understanding Ceph Provisioner services.
Changing the log level
Increase log verbosity on the Provisioner server or node agent to capture detailed diagnostic output. See Changing the log level.
Debugging an immutable OS
Temporarily install debugging tools on a node running an immutable RHEL Image Mode OS to diagnose complex network or software issues. See Debugging an immutable OS.
Generating SOS reports and Provisioner logs
Collect system information and Provisioner service logs to provide IBM support with the diagnostic data needed to resolve the issue. See Generating SOS reports and Provisioner logs.
