VMFS Datastore summary panel

Use the IBM Storage Ceph Plugin for vSphere to display additional information about a selected Datastore and the underlying volume from the storage system.

In the vSphere inventory, identify the VMFS Datastore you wish to explore.

To see a summary view of the Datastore and the information about the underlying storage volume, navigate to the Summary tab and scroll to the IBM Storage Ceph card. The card displays the Datastore Details information, as detailed in Table 1.
Table 1. Datastore Details information in the IBM Storage Ceph card
Detail type Description
Storage System The name of the storage system where the volume was created.
Alias The user defined alias name for the storage system.
Note:
  • Using an alias is optional.
  • If there is no alias for any of the storage systems the alias column is automatically hidden. You can alter column's visibility by using the show/hide icon.
Gateway Group The Ceph NVMe-oF gateway group name that is associated with the datastore.
Note: If there is no gateway group for any of the storage systems the gateway group column is automatically hidden. You can alter column's visibility by using the show/hide icon.
Subsystem NQN The NVMe Qualified Name (NQN) of the NVMe-oF gateway subsystem that is associated with the datastore.
Pool Name The name of the pool where the datastore volume was created.
Namespace UUID The UUID of the underlying NVMe-oF namespace.
Volume Name The name of the underlying volume.
Snapshot Clone Parent The name of the parent datastore and the snapshot from which the thin clone was created.

The name of the parent pool, datastore, and snapshot from which the thin clone was created. Thi sis displayed in the following format:

POOL/DATASTORE@SNAPSHOT

For example, if Snapshot Clone parent outputs rbd1/mydatastore1@mysnapshot:

  • rbd1 is the pool name
  • mydatastore1 is the datastore
  • mysnapshot is the snapshot name
Note: If the datastore not a thin clone, the output field remains empty.
Capacity The capacity of the underlying volume.
