Attaching a VMFS datastore to a virtual machine

Use the IBM Storage Ceph Plugin for vSphere to attach an existing VMFS datastore to a virtual machine (VM).

Procedure

  1. From the vSphere Client, select the vSphere Cluster that requires new VMs, and click Actions > New Virtual Machine.
    The New Virtual Machine wizard opens.
  2. Proceed through the wizard, filling in the fields.
    Click NEXT to continue thorugh the wizard steps.
    1. In Select a name and folder, enter a virtual machine name and select a location for which datacenter and host virtual machine needs to be deployed.
    2. In Select storage, select the datastore.
    3. In Ready to complete, review the virtual machine information and click FINISH.
