Bug fixes
This section describes bugs with significant user impact, which were fixed in this release of IBM Storage Ceph Plugin for vSphere.
- The dashboard datastore creation wizard does not close automatically when creating larger datastores
- Previously, when creating large datastores with IBM Storage Ceph Plugin for vSphere wizard, the vSphere API would time out, causing the wizard to hang. This would occur when creating large datastores, anywhere between 3 – 25 TB. The failure depends on how large the datastore is and on the vSphere load and resource allocation.
When this occurs, an error similar to the following is emitted:
Create Datastore API timed out however datastore with name ds9 may get created, check vSphere inventory. It won't be managed by the IBM Storage vSphere plugin though, until you do reconciliation. If not found after few minutes, manually delete vdisk with uid:UID on storage system: STORAGE_SYSTEM.
This issue does not affect datastore creation but has user interface implications only.
