IBM Maximo SaaS Flex architecture
Sample Maximo® SaaS Flex architecture diagram. This is representative of a typical customer. Customer environment architectures may vary depending on customer specific requirements and ordered options.

- Maximo SaaS Flex customers are provisioned 2 environments by default: PROD and NON-PROD
- Maximo Application and Database Servers are provisioned on dedicated servers as shown in the diagram.
- IT Administration for the PROD and NON-PROD environments is solely managed by the IBM® SRE team
- Clients can access PROD and NON-PROD systems via the Maximo browser GUI using HTTPS
- IBM Maximo SaaS Flex is an internet-based offering that runs over HTTPS. There is no private cloud or direct connect option for IBM Maximo SaaS Flex.
- Administrator access is provided when environments are provisioned.
- Clients can optionally have one or more enhanced access DEV environments provisioned. These are available at an extra cost.
- Enhanced Access DEV environments allow clients remote desktop access to the Application Server console, WebSphere® Console, Files, Folders, and SQL using OpenVPN.
- PROD and NON-PROD Application Servers are Linux® O/S, Enhanced Access DEV environment.
- Application Servers are Windows OS.
- All Database Servers are Linux OS.
- Direct read-only database access to all Maximo IBM Cloud® databases can be allowed through site-to-site or Open VPN (setup is optional, but included).
