Creating attributes

As a minimum, create the attributes that are required by Content Collector for SAP.

Procedure

Complete these steps:

  1. Create the following attributes, together with the necessary attribute specifications. The attribute names are reserved names. They are case-sensitive and cannot be changed.
Attribute name Attribute type Character type Minimum character length Maximum character length
DocId Variable character Other 0 40
DocProtection Variable character Other 0 10
CompId Variable character Other 0 254
Charset Variable character Other 0 20
Version Variable character Other 0 10
Checksum Variable character Other 0 20
ContentType Variable character Other 0 80
Barcode (required only for incoming documents with bar codes) Variable character Other 0 40
CSOBJKEY (needed as a second-level attribute of a child component if the archived documents are to be referenced from several SAP objects) Variable character Other 0 65
  2. Optional: You can improve the searchability of the archived documents by storing additional attribute values with the documents or by using the index transfer of Content Collector for SAP. If you want to store additional values during the archiving process and if your scanning application creates a description file, create the attributes for which the description file provides values. If you want to use the index transfer, create the attributes that match the attributes of the SAP business object to which the documents are to be linked.
In Administration Feature of Content Collector for SAP, these optional attributes must be mapped to the values in the description file or to the SAP attributes.
