You create a file resource in IBM® Cognos® Command Center by uploading a file through the Cognos Command Center user interface.

When you upload a file resource, you can define the following properties:
File Resource Name
The name of the file resource to be created.
Attention: For certain file types, you must include a file extension in the name for the agent operating system to properly run. For example, Microsoft Windows executable files file names must include a file extension such as .bat, .cmd, or .exe.
Uploaded File
Use to select a file from the directories that are visible from the computer that is running Cognos Command Center. To select multiple files to upload, click Upload multiple files.
File Type
Defines the file type from one of the following sources:
  • Script text - A text file whose content can be edited in Cognos Command Center. This file is typically a script, command, or .bat file.
  • Executable binary
  • Zip archive
Attention: The client computer that runs the Cognos Command Center user interface must have network access to the drives where various files are located.

Procedure

  1. Start Cognos Command Center.
  2. Select an ecosystem.
  3. From the navigation pane, select the appropriate file resources folder item.
  4. Click the New icon new icon.
