Customers
A call center or store can have individuals or business organizations as customers.
Customer identification
You can register new customers by creating customer records. However, when an existing customer wants to place an order, you can search and identify the appropriate customer record and associate with the order. Usually business customers have multiple contacts who place orders on behalf of the organization. Therefore, you can create orders for the appropriate contacts.
Sometimes, customers might not want to reveal their details until they find the appropriate products and decide to buy. In such situations, you can skip the customer identification initially and capture the shipping address. At a later point before collecting the payments, the application allows you to identify and select the customer.
When unregistered customers want to place orders, You can choose to proceed without identifying the customer. However, the application allows you to capture the billing and shipping addresses that are essential to fulfill the order. Alternatively, you can also choose to create a customer record first and then proceed with the order creation for that customer.
Customer management
You can search, view, and manage customer records. You can view the basic details of a customer such as the name, status, and contact details.
If you want to know the ordering history of a customer, you can view the draft, confirmed, and return orders. You can also view the addresses, payment methods, and alerts that are associated with the customer. If you want to associate an important piece of information with a customer record, you can add notes. From the notes, you can gather information about the user who first contacted the customer and who modified it later. You can also know the exact date and time when the notes were created or modified. Further, you can filter to view the required note or delete unnecessary notes.
You can view the existing contacts for a business customer. You can also create contacts in the context of a business customer. For each contact, you can manage the payment methods, addresses, and ordering permissions.
You can choose to capture additional addresses for a contact and make an address as a default address for the customer. Similarly, you can create payment methods that you can select when you want to collect payments from the customer, for an order.
You can perform certain tasks that are related to a customer. For example, you can create a sales order or return order for a customer. When you create an order in the context of a customer, the customer details from the current context are used. Similarly, when you create a return order in the context of a customer, you can conveniently search and add only those products that the customer has purchased. Similarly, you can browse products. For example, when you browse products in the context of a customer, only those products that the customer is entitled to buy are listed.
