Defining customer information

In IBM® Sterling Business Center you can define and manage the business customers and their contacts. You can also maintain additional contacts and addresses for a business customer. For a consumer customer you can maintain multiple addresses and capture customer demographic information.

Sterling Field Sales application allows users to manage opportunities and quotes by associating them to a customer. Sterling Field Sales supports two types of customers; business and consumer. Business customers are customers who place orders on behalf of an organization or business. This is a typical Business-to-Business business scenario where opportunities and quotes managed in Sterling Field Sales are associated to a business through a contact from the customer organization.

Consumer customers would typically represent a Business-to-Customer business scenario, where the customer is an individual or group of individuals and are modeled in Sterling Field Sales or IBM Sterling Business Center as a contact and do not have any buyer organizations associated with them.
