Defining common item attributes for a classification value
You can define common item attributes at the classification level. Items with this classification level inherit values for these attributes, unless the values for these attributes have been specified at the item level.

To define common item attributes for a classification value:
Procedure
- From the tree in the application rules side panel, choose Products > Classifications > Classification Hierarchy.
- The Classification Values window displays in the work area. Select the applicable classification value and choose the Details icon. The Value Details pop-up window displays. Select the Common Item Attributes Tab.
- Enter information into the applicable fields. Refer to Table 1 for field level descriptions.
- Choose the Save icon.

Field Description View Icons Additional Attributes icon Click this icon to open the Extended Attributes pop-up window. If you have specified additional common item attributes, you can define them for the classification here. Reverse Logistics Returnable Specify whether this item can be returned. Return Window Days Enter the number of days from receipt of the item that the Buyer can return the item. Inventory Info Default Product Class Select any of the configured product classes based on your business practices. ATP Rule Select an ATP Rule to use. The parameters defined in ATP rules are used to determine the available inventory. Note: If you do not choose an ATP rule, the system's DEFAULT ATP rule is used.Lead Days Enter the amount of time (in days) needed to procure inventory and make the items in the classification available for shipping. ATP Monitor Rule Select an Inventory Monitoring Rule to use. The minimum inventory levels are based on the parameters set up for the selected ATP Monitoring Rule. Track FIFO in Inventory Indicates that inventory is tracked using the First In First Out (FIFO) number. The FIFO number is automatically generated by the system.
Node Level ATP Monitor Rule Select an Node Level Inventory Monitoring Rule to use. The minimum inventory levels for this item are based on the parameters set up for the selected ATP Monitoring Rule. Future Safety Factor Percentage Enter the percentage of inventory that you want to exclude from future inventory availability. Item Based Allocation Allowed Select the appropriate option from the drop-down list to allow the item-based allocation for an item. When the 'Use Item Based Allocation' rule is enabled, item-based allocation is only applicable for the items and nodes that have the Item Based Allocation Allowed attribute enabled. Use Unplanned Inventory Select the appropriate option to use unplanned inventory for this item. Onhand Safety Factor Percentage Select this option to enter the percentage of inventory that you want to exclude from on hand inventory availability. If this option is chosen, you cannot specify an Onhand Safety Factor Quantity.
Onhand Safety Factor Quantity Select this option to enter the quantity of inventory that you want to exclude from on hand inventory availability. If this option is chosen, you cannot specify an Onhand Safety Factor Percentage.
Note: You can define safety factor for an inventory node type based on the delivery method. The valid values are SHP, PICK, and DEL.Sourcing Info Release an order for this item a total of <number of hours> working hours and <number of days> system days before expected time of shipment Enter the total number of working hours and system days an order for this item should be released before its expected to ship. Node needs to be notified at least <number of hours> hours prior to expected time of shipment Enter the minimum number of hours a node needs to be notified before the expected time of shipment. Item Shipment Consolidation window <number of days> Days Enter the number of days an item can be delayed after its availability date in order to consolidate its shipment with other items. Pickup Allowed Specify whether pickup is allowed. Delivery Allowed Specify whether delivery is allowed. Options are: - Y - Yes, delivery is allowed
- M - Maybe, only if something else is being delivered
- N - No, delivery is not allowed
Shipping Allowed Specify whether shipping is allowed. Options are: - Y - Yes, shipping is allowed
- M - Maybe, only if delivery is not possible
- N - No, shipping is not allowed
Don't Perform Inventory Check on Schedule and Release Specify whether inventory checks should be performed during the Schedule and Release process. Forwarding Allowed Specify whether forwarding is allowed. Procurement Allowed Specify whether procurement is allowed. Item Supersession on Order Allowed Specify whether supersession for the item is allowed. Transportation Info Parcel Shipping Allowed Specify whether parcel shipping of transfers is allowed. Requires Freezer Specify whether items require freezer storage during transportation. Shipping By Air Allowed Specify whether items can be shipped by air.
