Installing Sterling Field Sales using GUI on Windows, UNIX, or Linux

Before you begin

Ensure that you have installed the following products before you proceed with installing Sterling Field Sales.

IBM Installation Manager.
Sterling™ Order Management System Software.

Use the following steps to install Sterling Field Sales.

Procedure

You can start this installation with the IBM Installation Manager. Execute the following command to start the IBM Installation Manager:
- <IM_INSTALL_DIR>\eclipse\IBMIM -nl <locale_code>
- <IM_INSTALL_DIR>/eclipse/IBMIM -nl <locale_code>
Here, <locale_code> indicates the language in which you want to view the IBM Installation Manager wizard. If you do not specify the locale code, the Installation Manager considers the language of the OS. The following list contains the language and locale codes that are supported by Sterling Field Sales:
- English (en_US)
- French (fr_FR)
- German (de_DE)
- Italian (it_IT)
- Japanese (ja_JP)
- Korean (ko_KR)
- Portuguese (pt_BR)
- Simplified Chinese (zh_CN)
- Spanish (es_ES)
- Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) (zh_TW)
- Russian (ru_RU)
- Polish (pl_PL)
- Turkish (tr_TR)
Note: If you are installing in the following multibyte languages, ensure that fonts are installed on the server: Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean.
If you have not already added Sterling Field Sales to the IBM Installation Manager, do the following steps. Otherwise, skip to Step 3.
1. In Installation Manager, click File > Preferences... > Repositories. The Preferences page opens and displays the available repositories, repository locations, and the connection status for the repositories.
2. Click Add Repository.
3. Enter the repository location or click Browse and select the repository.config file for the Sterling Field Sales.
4. Click OK. The new repository location is added to the list. If the repository is not connected, a red box is displayed in the Connection column.
5. Click OK to close the Preferences page.
By default, the Sterling Field Sales and version 10.0.0 options are selected. Click Next.
Read and accept the license terms, and then click Next.
Select Use the existing package group and Sterling Order Management System Software, and then click Next.
On the features screen, you can select the check boxes for multiple applications that you may want to install. The IBM Installation Manager proceeds to install these applications for you. Click Next.
On the summary screen, the Packages are displayed. Click Install. A progress indicator displays the percentage of installation completed.
The Environment section on the summary screen displays the languages that are selected during the installation of the Sterling Order Management System Software software. When Sterling Field Sales is installed, language packs are installed for the languages that are displayed in the Environment section.
Optional: Click View log file to open the installation log file for the current session in a new window.
Close the Installation Log window and click Finish to complete the installation.
Note: The language packs that you selected during installation are copied to the installation directory in the following format: <isccs><version>_<lang>_<country code>_<version>.zip. You must manually delete the zip files.
