Creating a node capacity service slot group

You can create a node capacity Service Slot Group in Sterling™ Business Center to parse a node's inventory capacity into time shifts.

About this task

A node capacity Service Slot Group represents a group of Service Slots that parse a node's inventory capacity into time shifts. It is the primary mechanism of defining and managing Service Slot shifts within the Inventory Management module.

1. Navigate to the Service Slot screen. To navigate to the Service Slot screen, perform the following steps:
   1. Log in to Sterling Business Center as an Inventory Administrator.
   2. The Home page is displayed. In the Switch to drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the screen, select the node organization for which you want to manage Service Slot Groups.
   3. Select the Inventory tab. The Inventory page is displayed.
   4. Select New Service Slot Group in the Node Configuration dashlet.
   5. The Service Slot screen is displayed.
2. In the Service Slot Group Primary Details dashlet, enter a Service Slot Group ID in the Service Slot Group ID field.
3. In the Description field, enter a description for the Service Slot Group.
4. Below the Service Slot Group Primary Details dashlet, in the Manage Shifts window, use the Add Shift icon to add shifts and shift criteria. To add shift criteria, follow these steps:
   1. Enter an ID for the shift in the Shift ID text box. For example, "Morning" or "Afternoon".
   2. To the right of the Shift ID text box, use the Start Time drop-down menu to select the start time for the shift.
   3. To the right of the start time drop-down menu, use the End Time drop-down menu to select the end time for the shift.
5. Select the Save icon in the upper right corner of the screen to save your new Service Slot Group.
