Sterling Order Management System Software server components

You can review the information about how the different server components and instances of those components function in the Sterling™ Order Management System Software.

Sterling Order Management System Software runs on one of the following server components, as depicted in the following figure:

Application server
Sterling Order Management System Software agent or integration server

These components run inside a Java™ Virtual Machine (JVM). As a result, each component exists as a process in the system. You can have multiple instances of each component. For example, you can run Sterling Order Management System Software in multiple instances of the application server. Each instance is a separate JVM.

The components use the following services:

JNDI
Database server
LDAP (optional)
