(Optional) Updating the controller service value in Apache NiFi

In Cloud Application Business Insights V1.1.6, if you installed Apache NiFi-based Connector framework, and if you installed PostgreSQL database on a remote server, then you cannot add any connector sources after upgrade. Hence, before you upgrade Cloud Application Business Insights, you must complete the steps that are provided in this topic.

Before you begin

Use this procedure when Cloud Application Business Insights V1.1.6 contains the following installations:

  • Apache NiFi-based Connector framework is installed.
  • PostgreSQL database is installed remotely.
Note:
  • If PostgreSQL database is installed locally, then you do not need to complete these steps, even if Apache NiFi-based Connector framework installed or not installed.
  • If PostgreSQL database is installed remotely and if Apache NiFi-based Connector framework is not installed, then you do not need to complete these steps.

Procedure

Complete the following steps to edit the database user and password in the Apache NiFi-based Connector framework:

  1. Log in to Apache NiFi user interface. Use the following URL and user credentials:

    https://server_ip:8081/nifi

    Username is admin.

    Password is connector4PRD.

    The PRD Connector Data Service and the PRD Connector Config Service Process Groups are displayed in the Apache NiFi user interface.
  2. Right-click anywhere on the user interface other than PRD Connector Data Service and the PRD Connector Config Service Process Groups.
  3. In the pop-up menu, click Configure.

    The NiFi Flow Configuration window is displayed.

  4. Go to the CONTROLLER SERVICES tab.
  5. Click the Disable Disable icon that is displayed on the DBCPConnectionPool_PRDCONNDB controller services row.
  6. In the Disable Controller Service window, click DISABLE.
  7. After the service is disabled, click CLOSE.

    The DBCPConnectionPool_PRDCONNDB controller service is disabled.

  8. Click the Configure Configure icon that is displayed on the DBCPConnectionPool_PRDCONNDB controller services row.

    The Configure Controller Service window is displayed.

  9. Go to the PROPERTIES tab and replace the existing database user and password with the following values:
    • Database User: ${prdconfigdb_user}
    • Password: Enter the PostgreSQL database password
  10. Click OK.
  11. In the NiFi Flow Configuration window, click the Enable Enable icon that is displayed on the DBCPConnectionPool_PRDCONNDB controller services row.
  12. In the Enable Controller Service window, click ENABLE.
  13. After the service is enabled, click CLOSE.

    The DBCPConnectionPool_PRDCONNDB controller service is enabled.

  14. Right-click anywhere on the user interface other than PRD Connector Data Service and the PRD Connector Config Service Process Groups, and in the pop-up menu, click Start to start any processes that might have stopped.
