Adding an existing activity to a process

This topic explains how to add an existing activity to a process.

An existing global task, Retrieve Payment Mandate Details, is called from a new call activity in the Administer Standing Order Mandate process, and the flow is updated to include this activity.

The sequence to complete these steps is as follows:

  1. In the Analysis Process Model (APM), go to Global Items > Global Definitions.bpmx > and open the file.

  2. Expand the Global Tasks folder within the file and navigate to the Retrieve Payment Mandate Details global task.

  3. Drag the Retrieve Payment Mandate Details global task into the process diagram for Administer Standing Order Mandate and rename the resulting call activity to Retrieve Payment Mandate Details.

  4. Update the process flow to include the new activity.
    1. Reroute the connector from the initial gateway, from Record Payment Mandate Request to the new call activity. Add a new exclusive gateway and end event.
    2. Add connectors from Retrieve Payment Mandate Details to the new gateway, from the new gateway to the new end event, and from the new gateway to Record Payment Mandate Details.
