Managing operating environments
You can manage your IBM® Business Process Manager on Cloud environments. You can retrieve and view log files, create a data source to securely connect to relational databases, import certificates to securely connect to service providers, and manage applications.
Before you begin
Procedure
- Log in to IBM BPM on Cloud (https://www.bpm.ibmcloud.com).
- Click Admin > Operating Environment Management.
- Expand the environment, or environments, that you want
to work in.
Depending on the environment, the following options are available:
Table 1. Options for managing the operating environment Option Description Environment Log Retrieval Retrieve logs from specific clusters and specific times, view previously retrieved logs, or delete logs that you retrieved. Development, Test, Process Runtime Live Log Viewer You can view current log data, live, for the cluster you specify in the development environment and test environment. Click play (
) to select
the cluster to view and begin viewing the current log information.Development, Test Log Levels Control which events are processed by Java logging. Development, Test, Process Runtime Datasources Create or manage data sources to connect to an existing relational database. Development, Test, Process Runtime Certificates Import or manage certificates to provide integrity and encryption of communication with external service providers by using SSL. Development, Test, Process Runtime Failed Events Reinitiate or discard failed flows. Development
ApplicationsInstall and uninstall enterprise applications that you created in IBM Integration Designer. You can also update the current version of an application with an updated version. The installation uses default configuration options. If you need a customized configuration, such as mapping shared libraries or defining custom properties, contact the IBM BPM on Cloud operations team to complete the deployment. After you install an application, you can start and stop it, and see the number of process instances it has in the running, failed, finished, and terminated states. Because an application might have process instances in other states too, use Business Process Choreographer Explorer to see all the process instances belonging to the application.
Development Environment Recovery If the environment becomes unstable, you can restart the server. Development, Test
- Maintaining database performance
If you suspect that the performance of your BPM or Performance Data Warehouse database might have got slower, it might help to delete from the database data such as old process instances that are no longer required. - Restarting an IBM BPM on Cloud server
If any of the development, test, or process runtime environments become unstable, you can restart the IBM Business Process Manager on Cloud server for that environment.
