Iterative development environment
The IBM® Business Monitor development environment enhances the development process by providing the Monitor Model editor to help you create monitor models. Additionally, the IBM Business Monitor test environment can be installed to facilitate testing your monitor models before deployment.
The Business Monitor development environment is built into Integration Designer.

You can install the Monitor test environment into the existing test environment in Integration Designer. The Monitor test environment can be installed in the Integration Designer test environment, where it provides a stand-alone profile.
With the Monitor test environment, you can deploy your monitor model to a Business Monitor server, configure Monitor action services, and view the data.
- Promotes fast and iterative development (using the Republish support)
- Provides an Integrated Test Client intended for use with Business Activity Monitoring processes. The Integrated Test Client enables you to easily create and send test events. You can also record events that are being sent to the server, capture them, and then play them back at a later time from the Integrated Test Client, which enables you to iteratively test your monitor model without having to rerun the application that it will be monitoring.
- Enables debugging. You can submit events to a version of your monitor model that is running in the monitor model debugger, and manually step through the processing to understand what happens when each event arrives. The debugger provides a representation of all of the operations performed on monitor model elements, such as updating metrics, evaluating triggers, starting and stopping stopwatches, and incremental counters.
