Deleting artifacts

As an account admin, you can delete archived IBM Blueworks Live spaces, blueprints, decisions, policies, and process apps. You can also delete unused glossary values.

Before you can delete an artifact:
  • The artifact must be archived.
  • To delete a space, you must be an account admin with an Editor license, and you must have Manage and Edit permission on the space. You also need edit permission for the artifacts within the space and on each of its child spaces.
  • To delete other kinds of artifacts, you need edit permission for that kind of artifact.
To find and delete archived artifacts:
  1. To find artifacts that were archived, change Active to Archived at the top of the Library or Space Overview page. Look through your archived artifacts to determine candidates for deletion.
  2. Click the drop-down menu for the artifact that you want to delete and select Delete. Make sure that you have the correct artifact.
Important: After you delete an artifact, there is no way to recover it.
To delete multiple artifacts from the Library or Space Overview page, use Ctrl+click or Cmd+click to select each of them. Or, select the first artifact and then use Shift+click to select the last artifact and all artifacts in between. Release the key and click the drop-down menu at the top of one of the selected artifacts to specify Delete.

When an artifact is deleted, all of the artifact details and any attached files are deleted. The history of the artifact is also deleted and no longer shows up in the activity stream. A single entry that only Admins can see shows that the artifact was deleted, who deleted it, and when.

Links to the deleted artifact from other artifacts are not deleted. You are informed of links from other artifacts when you delete. If you continue with the deletion, the deleted artifact appears as "inaccessible" from artifacts that used to link to it. You must change or remove those links manually to clean them up.

Glossary managers can remove glossary values that are not in use, for more information see Deleting glossary values.
