Supportive Content terms

The supportive content terms are defined in Information Governance Catalog (IGC) as terms with properties. Supportive content terms are grouped in supportive content categories below the Supportive Content umbrella category.

Hierarchy

Supportive content terms are organized in hierarchies by using Is a Type Of or Has Types associations and can be viewed by using the Term Type Hierarchy view in IGC. Supportive Content is the root term of the supportive terms hierarchy and is labeled supportive content root. All other terms are labeled supportive content.

Properties

Name (mandatory)

The name of the supportive content term.

Parent category (mandatory)

The parent category of the supportive content term.

e.g. FATCA Compliance is parent category of supportive content Specified Foreign Financial Assets
e.g. Single Euro Payments Area SEPA is parent category of supportive content Bank-To-Bank Credit Transfer Rulebook
e.g. Basel Framework is parent category of supportive content Counterparty Credit Risk

Short description (mandatory)

The description of the supportive content term.

Long description (optional)

A description when the short description is not sufficient to describe the supportive content term.

Label (mandatory)

A label that identifies the term as supportive content.

e.g. supportive content Specified Foreign Financial Assets is labeled supportive content
e.g. supportive content Bank-To-Bank Credit Transfer Rulebook is labeled supportive content

Status (mandatory)

Candidate: A term that is proposed by a project team for consideration.
Note: this is the default value for the terms that are delivered in BG Pack for Financial Services.
Accepted: A term that is accepted by a project team and ready to be proposed as a standard at the enterprise level.
Standard: A term that is approved by the glossary authoring community and considered as a standard at the enterprise level.
Deprecated: A term that is designated as retired, and likely to be replaced by a standard term.

Data Type

The data type assigned to a term. This data type is based on the description of the supportive content term.

Referencing Categories

Categories that reference the supportive content term.

Scopes category

A referencing category that is used to define a project scope and provide a view on a subset of terms. Such scope categories are defined below the Scopes root category.

Associated Terms

The terms that are associated with this supportive content term.

Is a Type Of

The parent terms in the supportive content terms hierarchy. Supportive Content terms may be reused within the a subcategory, therefore one term may have multiple Is a Type Of associated terms.

The user ID of the person who creates the term. When a special user ID is used to load the business terms content from BG Pack for Financial Services, this user ID can be used to distinguish the BG Pack for Financial Services content from the customized content.
