Use the Deployment Topology page to
manage the topology configuration for your IBM-supplied patterns.
Managing the configuration can involve adding and removing nodes,
as well as changing the number of cluster members.
Before you begin
To see the topology in this page, your user ID must be associated with the Operator or Monitor
user role. To change the topology in this page, your user ID must be associated with either the
Administrator or Configurator role.
Navigate to the administrative console
of a deployment manager. In the tree view of the administrative console,
select .
About this task
Use this page to add or remove nodes. You can also change
the number of cluster members participating in a particular function
for each node. In a single-cluster environment, there is only one
function: the application deployment target. In a three-cluster environment,
there are three functions: the application deployment target, the
messaging infrastructure, and the supporting infrastructure.By
adding nodes or cluster members you can increase the overall work
capacity of the system.
Procedure
- Select an objective and perform the associated actions.

In the Add Nodes list, select a node and click Add. |
| Reset the number of clusters assigned to each function |
If you set the number of clusters assigned to each function
for a new node, and you now want to reset the parameters to the original
value, click Reset. |

Type the number of cluster members in the text field of the
following function columns:
- Application Deployment Target
- Messaging Infrastructure
- Supporting Infrastructure
Remember: You must have at least one cluster member
assigned for each function.
The specified number in each
of the columns determines how many cluster members on this node must
be configured for the particular function. By default, this number
is set to 1, but you can set this higher if
you require additional processing resources. To add additional cluster
members to a function, increase the number. To remove cluster members
from a function, decrease the number. Although the specified number
can be 0 (zero) or higher, a number must be
specified. The text field cannot be left blank.

| Remove a node from the deployment topology |
For the nodes that you want to remove, select the check boxes
in the Select column of the table and click Remove.
This removes rows for selected nodes from the table, if removing the
nodes does not violate any of the constraints you placed on the deployment
environment. |
- Click Apply to keep the updates
and remain on the Deployment Topology page. Click OK to
keep the updates and return to the previous page.

Either save the changes or discard them.
